A brief note of explanation:

When I approached manga (who runs the Rayek Admiration Society for Humans website) about the idea of creating a Rayek-oriented Mailing List, she was skeptical. You see, most Rayek fans tend to be rather quiet, private individuals who don't see a need to scream their obsession to the sky. She and I are two of the exceptions to that little stereotype. But since manga is my sister-in-all-but-blood, she shrugged and said, "Go ahead."

I decided fairly soon after that to create two mailing lists. One would be labeled R-A-S-H and would be available for anyone who wanted to join, child or adult alike. To further ensure that children would not be subjected to things that they really shouldn't be reading about, that list is moderated by myself and manga. After all, Rayek loves children, and wouldn't want to corrupt one. Need proof? Check out his attitude to baby Leetah.

The OTHER list, which this website is the archive for, is Rayek's Harem. Obviously, it is the more adult of the lists, allowing members to post pictures and stories of a graphic nature. That list is just barely moderated, although you really couldn't tell by the conversation therein. But manga was nervous about the idea of posting any graphic material on the R.A.S.H. site, since it IS supposed to be for children. And once more, I stood up and waved my hand. "Let me create a website archive for the stuff," I cried out, and she agreed (mostly to shut me up, I suspect).

Rayek's Harem - The Online Archive is for anyone who does not wish to access the lists to read the stories or admire the pictures posted therein. Not everything will be 'adult,' but I must admit, it's all very good stuff! It is meant, however, to be a sister site to R.A.S.H., and the Admiration Society DOES have first pick of anything that goes on the lists.

Stories will be archived either by author or title, as pictures will be archived either by artist or title. Rayek's biography is the canon story of his life, written by manga (who is 'the most rabid Rayek fan in the world' according to Richard Pini himself!) and may be of use to those of you who are newly interested in ElfQuest and Rayek. The resources page includes webrings, links, a badge for those who proudly wish to proclaim that they are part of Rayek's Harem, and many other useful items. To navigate between these gateways to Rayek-worship, simply use the plaques at the top of each page.
